Saudi Arabia Rebut Emas di Nomor Lari 4x400 Meter

INDONESIA UPDATED. 
Di cabang Atletik, Saudi Arabia meraih medali emas setelah tim lari 4x400 meter esfatet putra itu mencatat waktu, 3:03.70 detik pada Islamic Solidarity Games di Stadion Atletik Jakabaring Palembang, Sabtu.
 

Pada nomor lari estafet itu tim Saudi Arabia menurunkan pelari Esmaeel, Mohammed, Mazen dan Yousef.

Untuk medali peraknya direbut oleh tim Turki setelah Batuhan, Halit, Mehmet dan Ilham mencatat waktu 3:06,43 detik.

Sementara medali perunggu di nomor tersebut diperoleh oleh tim Algeria yang hanya mampu mencatat waktu, 3:09,04 detik.

Untuk lari 4x400 meter estafet putri medali emas Maroko setelah pelarinya mencatat waktu, 3:38,56 detik. Maroko dalam lari estafet itu menurunkan pelari Grioui, Lhabze, Akkaoui, Lambarki.

Untuk medali perunggu di nomor tersebut didapt Oman setelah timnya Mazoon, Shinoona, Hiba, Buthaina mencatat prestasi 4:30.09 detik.

Lompat jangkit putra juara pertama Maroko (Bouguetaib) mencatat prestasi 16,29 meter, disusul Bahrain (Yusuf Salman), 15,90 meter dan perunggu, turki (Azkin K) 15,75 meter.

Shitaye Clinches Gold in 10,000 Meters

Bahrain's Shitaye Eshete Mubarak won a gold medal while compatriot Tareq Mubarak Taher claimed a bronze yesterday on the second day of the athletics competition at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Indonesia.
Shitaye clinched first place in the women's 10,000 metres while Taher finished third in the men's 3,000m steeplechase.

Their medals were Bahrain's second and third of the Games. Hassan Mahboob had earlier clinched a bronze in the men's 10,000m race on Wednesday.
In the women's 10,000m final, Shitaye stormed to the finish in a winning time of 32 minutes 35.78 seconds.

An athlete from Algeria claimed the silver in 33:06.41, while the UAE's Alia Mohammed clinched the bronze in 33:44.12.

Shitaye's medal presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place today.
Meanwhile, in the men's steeplechase final, Taher had to settle for third place after finishing his race in 8:44.20.

A Turkish athlete won the gold in 8:28.79, while Moroccan Hameed Azzedine came away with the silver in 8:37.46.

In other results yesterday, Bahrain's former World champion Youssef Saad Kamel finished fifth in the men's 800m final, narrowly missing out on another medal.

He clocked a mark of 1:48.27.
On the distaff, fellow-Bahraini Genzeb Shumi was also fifth in her 800m event. She registered a time of 2:11.00 in her race.

Bahrain is competing in Indonesia with an 11-member athletics squad. The remaining athletes include former world champion Maryam Yusuf Jamal, Belal Mansoor Ali, Mimi Belete Salem, Ali Khamis, Dejene Regassa and Mohammed Yusuf Salman.

This 10-day Islamic Solidarity Games, which concludes on October 1, is being held under the slogan "Unity and Harmony".

There are 13 sports that will be competed. The sports are athletics, aquatics swimming, archery, badminton, basketball, football, karate, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, volleyball beach, weightlifting and wushu. Around 1,759 athletes and 624 officials will take part in the Games.

Participating nations are Algeria, Azerbaijan, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Indonesia, Guyana, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, the UAE and Malaysia.

The first edition of the Games was held in 2005 in Saudi Arabia. The second event was cancelled after it had been originally scheduled to take place in Tehran in October 2009. Azerbaijan will host the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017.

Amina Bettiche wins gold in 3000m steeple

Algerian athletes Amina Bettiche won Thursday the gold medal in women’s 3000m steeple at the Islamic Solidarity Games of Palembang, Indonesia (September 22 - October 1). 

The gold medallist at the 2013 Mediterranean Games of Mersin, Turkey, clocked 10:05.63, ahead of Turkey’s Elif Karablit (10:07.79) and Moroccan Salima Ouali (10:08.86).

 
It is Algeria’s third gold medal in these tournament, after those claimed by karateka Abdelkrim Bouamria (-60kg) in men’s individual kumite event on Wednesday, and by swimmer Oussama Sahnoune in men’s 50m freestyle on Thursday.

Bahrainis Set for Solidarity Games

BAHRAIN's delegation to the third Islamic Solidarity Games has been approved, the Bahrain Olympic Committee announced yesterday.

The Games are set to take place in Palembang, the capital city of the South Sumatera in Indonesia, from September 22 to October 1, as 33 athletes will spearhead the kingdom in three disciplines - athletics, karate and taekwondo.

BOC board member Abdulhakim Al Shino is heading the Bahrain delegation to the Games. Other delegation officials are director Sameer Shuwaiter, deputy director Maryam Mardana and treasurer Abdulla Rabeia.

Eleven athletes were chosen for the athletics event. They are former world champions Maryam Yusuf Jamal and Youssef Saad Kamel, Belal Manoor Ali, Mimi Belete Salem, Shitaye Mubarak Eshete, Ali Khamis, Hassan Mahboob, Dejene Regassa, Genzeb Shumi, Mohammed Salman and Tareq Mubarak Taher.
They will be traveling along with team administrators Saad Al Buainain and Mohammed Hassan, physiotherapist Eid Hassan and head coach Vladimir. the athletics event is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 29.

In taekwondo, coach Tawfeeq Nuwaiser has named five players for the Games and they are Hamad Al Bin Khalil, Hesham Al Hashimi, Fahad Al Bosta, Mohammed Ahmed and Fajar Al Binali. Their events will be held from September 27 to October 1.

The karate team also features five players, namely Noora Ahmed, Mustafa Al Shaikh, Bashar Al Sanjar, Mohamed Al Shaikh and Sara Al Sabah. They are being coached by Mohamed Larbi Boumezbeur. The karate competitions are due to take place from September 22 to 26.

Both Shuwaiter and his deputy Mardana are due to travel to Indonesia tomorrow. The karate and taekwondo delegations will leave the next day, to be followed by the athletics team on Friday.

The Islamic Solidarity Games is a multinational, multi-sport event. The Games involve the elite athletes of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
The Islamic Solidarity Games Federation (ISSF) is the organisation that is responsible for the direction and control of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

As many as 55 countries are expected to participate in the Games, which will feature 13 disciplines like athletics, badminton, basketball, football, weightlifting, karate, archery, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, wushu and swimming.

Dedeh Herawati Ready to Gives Medals

Islamic Solidarity Games is coming soon, the hurdler Dedeh Herawati keep conducting various preparations to improve her performance by following the Athletics National Games, 4 – 7 September in Jakarta.

“The preparation so far is already entered to the stage of test matches. One of the following is the Athletics National Games this September”, she said.

On the Athletics National Games, she claims to not put high target. The important things for her are running properly and printing of time as fast as possible.



“Because it parts of ISG preparation and the selection process for SEA Games, so the record time should be better than before. I’m usually printed 13,5 seconds, the expectation can be better than it”, said SEA Games gold medalist of 2007 and 2009.

The Board of Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI) has previously deployed their athletes to compete on ISG in Palembang, 22 September – 1 October 2013. Because five athletics matches have been canceled, PASI still sifting their athletes to compete.

The number women of running for hurdler are Dedeh Herawati and Emilia Nova, Lisnawati Illang (1500 meter middle distance), Dwi Ratnawati (discus throw), and Eki Febri also Dewi (shot put). The athletes for men’s number will be informed immediately.

Dedeh is the most senior athlete among other athletes. However, she is optimistic to give medals to Indonesia in Palembang.

“My target for ISG is to bring medals to my country, and for SEA Games i will do my best”, she said.
