Cambodia Volleyball Players Fire in Friendlies

CAMBODIA UPDATED. Cambodia’s national volleyball team showed some medal potential during pre-SEA Games friendlies held at the indoor hall of Olympic Stadium over the weekend with two 3-0 shutouts against Vietnamese clubs Sanest and Maseco. 

Battambang Police Station, however, lost 3-1 to Maseco but managed to edge Sanest 3-2 in Friday and Saturday encounters. 

The coach of Maseco, however, refused to validate the results, claiming the Vietnamese players had failed to play to their best. 

 
Despite some victories in friendlies during the lead in to the 2011 SEA Games, Cambodia were blanked 3-0 in four of their preliminary matches in Indonesia against regional rivals such as Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam. 

They were also beaten 3-1 by Malaysia. “We lost before because we were too new to the last SEA Games, but now we’ve trained very well and done good warm-up games against Vietnamese teams. 

So I hope we’ll get better result in the SEA Games,” Cambodia coach Pou Sarak told the Post. Cambodia will meet the gold medal Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar in Group A at the Zayar Thiri Indoor Stadium in Naypyidaw from December 13.

Inilah Timnas Bola Volley Indonesia Untuk SEA Games

INDONESIA UPDATED. Skuat inti tim bola voli putri untuk SEA Games XXVII/2013 akhirnya resmi diumumkan, Senin (11/11). Dari 12 nama yang dibawa ke Myanmar, Desember 2013 mendatang, enam di antaranya merupakan atlet asal Jawa Barat.
 
Pelatih Muhammad Anshori menyatakan pemilihan ini sudah didasarkan atas hasil pemusatan latihan. Pertimbangan juga diambil berdasarkan hasil uji coba dengan tim-tim putra lokal selama ini.

"Setelah ini, kita masih akan ada beberapa uji coba lagi dengan tim-tim putra lain, seperti tim asal Maluku di Jakarta," kata Anshori.
 
Kepala Bidang Pembinaan dan Prestasi (Binpres) Persatuan Bola Voli Seluruh Indonesia (PBVSI) Yamin Nuriman menyatakan uji coba dengan tim putra diplot bisa meningkatkan kesiapan tim dari segi fisik dan teknik untuk meraih medali di SEA Games Myanmar.
 
"Secara performa, tim putri mengalami kemajuan dari segi fisik dan teknik," kata Yamin kepada Media Indonesia.
 
Ia pun berharap tim bola voli putri Indonesia mencetak kejutan di SEA Games XXVII/2013. Tim besutan M. Anshori itu dinilai bisa meraih medali perak dari target semula yang hanya medali perunggu.
 
Hal tersebut diungkapkan berdasarkan raihan tim putri kala melakoni Asian Women Volleyball Championship 2013, di Thailand, September lalu. 

Meski hanya peringkat ke-10 Asia, Indonesia masuk tiga besar Asia Tenggara bersama Thailand dan Vietnam. Yamin pun berharap timnas putri bisa menumbangkan Vietnam sehingga membuka peluang untuk masuk ke final dan kemungkinan besar menghadapi Thailand. 

"Berdasarkan hasil kemarin, kami menargetkan putri supaya bisa mengalahkan Vietnam. Soal hasil, nanti kita lihat di lapangan," imbuh Yamin.
 
Di SEA Games XXVI/2011 lalu, tim voli putri Merah-Putih meraih perunggu setelah menumbangkan Laos di perebutan tempat ketiga. Meski minim uji coba internasional, PBVSI tetap menargetkan Amalia Fajrina dkk mampu melampaui prestasi sebelumnya.

Tim Voli Putra Indonesia Gagal Bendung Mesir

INDONESIA UPDATED. Tim voli putra Indonesia gagal membendung Mesir dan harus takluk 3-1 di ajang ISG 2013 Palembang.

Pada pertandingan yang dilangsungkan, Rabu (25/9), tim voli putra Indonesia yang diperkuat Agung Seganti, Ayip, dan Mahfud hanya mampu mencuri kemenangan di set ketiga dengan unggul 25-23.


Di dua set awal, Mesir dengan pemain andalan seperti Mostofa, Adel, dan Fathy tampil dengan smes-smes keras untuk menang dengan skor 25-17 dan 25-21. Setelah sempat kehilangan set ketiga, Mesir akhirnya menutup perlawanan tim tuan rumah dengan 25-17 di set keempat.

Qatar Defeats Cameroon in Volleyball at ISG

Qatar’s volleyball team began  its campaign in the prestigious 3^rd Islamic Solidarity Games with a 3-1 victory over Cameroon in Group A clash on Monday.

 

National volleyball team was the strong side in Monday’s clash,  showed widely- praised performance to defeat  Cameroon (26/24, 19/25,25/18 and 25/23) in group A which also includes Iran, Kuwait and Turkey.

The national volleyball team is scheduled to shake hands with Iran in the same group A on Tuesday.

In Karate competition, Qatar’s Adaham Abdulnasser and Ibraheem  Al Zibaidi suffered defeats  and missed their chance to reach the second round of the event.

The prestigious games brought together some 1,759 athletes and 624 officials from 38  nations, who are competing  in 13 sports including Athletics, Aquatic-Swimming, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Karate, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball Indoor, Volleyball Beach, Weightlifting, and Wushu.

The state of Qatar is participating in six sports including athletics, Archery, Basketball, Volleyball, Karate and Taekwondo.

Women Beach Volleyball Only Exhibition Match

Sports events executive committee of Islamic countries or "Islamic Solidarity Games" III in Palembang , September 22-October 1, 2013, daughter of the match to decide the number of sports beach volleyball exhibition as the number of participants limited to only three teams.

Ten Countries Make Sure Follow Volleyball on 3rd ISG

As many as 10 countries ensured follow branch volleyball on the sports event of Islamic countries “Islamic Solidarity Games Third” in Palembang, 23 until 30 September 2013.
 
“These countries are confirmed to participate in volleyball after the executive committee did not receive confirmation of the resignation until five days before the execution,” said the Secretary General of The Union of Volleyball throughout Indonesia of South Sumatra Province Faisol Duhai as organizers  in Palembang on Thursday. 

He argued, until now there are no participants who retired and the Committee noted there are 10 countries namely Indonesia, Iran, Qatar, Egypt, Libya, Turkey, Cameroon, Turkmenistan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. Contingent from the participating states estimated began arriving in Palembang on the 20 until 21 September to do preparation for the match. All athletes and officials volleyball be placed on hotel Sanjaya because relatively close to the arena matches located in Palembang sport convention center.

Related to schedule games,  fixed according to plan because there is no reduction of the participants as it did in the sport of football and basketball. “So far no change, but the determination of the end of something about the schedule the game will be held at a meeting technique of one day before the inaugural match,” he said.

As many as 44 countries took part in a sports event the members countries of the organisation of Islamic Cooperation, namely Algeria, Azerbaijan, Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Burkino Fasao, Guyana, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Maldives, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Syria, Tajikista. And then, Turkmenistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Uganda, Yemen, Guinea, Mauritania, Gambia, Nigeria, Jordan, Togo, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon, Monzambik, Lebanon, Tunisia, Somalia, Bahrain, Djibouti, Bangladesh, and Chad. 

ISG Sports Event itself has been going on with the fight for the sport of basketball on Sunday (15/9) and football (19/9) although it was officially opened by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on 22 September 2013 at The stadium Gelora Jakabaring Palembang.
